Sly Park Reservoir:  Also known as Jenkinson Lake, Sly Park Reservoir in Pollock Pines is probably the best known recreational lake and campground between the Sacramento Valley to the west and Lake Tahoe to the east.  The eight-mile rim trail is one of the best day hikes in the area.  Note: The associated link goes to the general recreation site of the El Dorado Irrigation District, which manages several recreational lakes in addition to Sly Park Reservoir.
